Male Kata: Karim Ghaly Claims Victory for Egypt

In the Male Kata category, Karim Ghaly of Egypt showcased his mastery, clinching the gold medal. Ghaly’s precision outshone his opponent, Adam Rchouq of Morocco, securing victory with a score of 42.00 to 39.60.

Women Team Kata: Egypt Triumphs Over Morocco

Egypt continued its dominance in the Women Team Kata, where they faced off against Morocco. With synchronized movements and impeccable technique, the Egyptian team secured the win with a score of 41.70 to 39.90, solidifying their status as champions.

Female Kumite -50kg: Yasmin Elgewily Seals Victory for Egypt

Yasmin Elgewily of Egypt emerged victorious in the Female Kumite -50kg category after a closely contested match against Cylia Ouikene of Algeria. Elgewily’s resilience led her to a hard-fought victory with a score of 7-5.

Male Kumite -60kg: Algeria’s Ala Salmi Claims Gold

Ala Salmi of Algeria demonstrated exceptional skill and control in the Male Kumite -60kg division, overpowering Iheb Ferchichi of Tunisia with a score of 6-1. This victory represents Salmi’s first gold in international competitions.

Female Kumite -55kg: Louiza Abouriche Secures Victory for Algeria

Louiza Abouriche of Algeria emerged triumphant in the Female Kumite -55kg category after defeating Ahlam Youssef of Egypt with a score of 3-1. Abouriche adds the gold at the African Games to her two silver medals at the UFAK Championships.

Male Kumite -67kg: Anis Ayoub Helassa Claims Gold for Algeria

In the highly competitive Male Kumite -67kg category, Anis Ayoub Helassa of Algeria emerged victorious after a closely contested match against Said Oubaya of Morocco. Helassa’s determination and technique secured him the win with a score of 2-1, adding another gold to Algeria’s tally.

 

As the competition progresses, Egypt and Algeria stood out as the frontrunners on day two of Karate action in Accra. The Karate competition at the African Games will conclude on Saturday with the Team Kumite categories.
